Dr. Danli Lira Xing is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in the treatment of medical and surgical diseases of the retina.   Her clinical interests include age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, retinal vascular disease, and surgical management of macular pathology. After graduating with honors from Northwestern University, she returned to New Jersey and received a medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.  Dr. Xing went on to complete an internship at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital followed by a residency in ophthalmology at the University of California-Davis, where she served as Co-Chief Resident.  She then completed a two year fellowship in vitreoretinal disease and surgery at the University of California-Irvine, where she also served as a clinical instructor. Dr. Xing is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.  She is active in ophthalmic research with publications in ophthalmic imaging.  In addition, Dr. Xing has a strong interest in global health and international medical missions and has received multiple fellowship grants in recognition for her commitment to global health and research.
