Product Security Update: Anti-Spam Bot Added in the Messaging Function

Last month, we have observed that one of our kontakme accounts had been getting email messages from random senders using the Kontakme email function in the Kontakme contact link. Our investigation led us to conclude that someone is using a spam bot to send spam using the Kontakme messaging form in the contact link.
Kontakme Contact and Follow Options
A spam bot or spam robot is a malicious program that is designed to automatically manipulate Internet forms to send unsolicited emails or perform other malicious activities. If you are getting random messages from the Kontakme messaging system, it is a sign that your account is also being targetted by the spam bot. Do not be alarmed, none of your security information (passwords) had been compromised. To stop the spam bot from sending unsolicited messages to your email, we added a reCaptcha feature in all our forms to prevent bots from gaming the system. The reCaptcha feature assures that any messages sent from your contact links are all coming from a real person and not from a robot. So far, we have observed that our affected Kontakme account has not received any random messages anymore after the implementation of the reCaptcha feature. If your account continue to receive random messages from the Kontakme Email System, do let us know ASAP. For those that were affected, we apologize for the inconvenience. Rest assured that we have taken cared of the situation and will continue to be vigilant against spamming activities.
