Kontakme Launches Quick Exchange Feature

Happy 2024 everyone! I am excited to release a new feature called the Quick Exchange^TM . The new feature turns our ContactLink^TM digital business card into a pro-active assistant that invites whoever receives it to send their name and phone number back to the owner of the ContactLink^TM even if the receiver does not have a digital business card.

With the new feature, our digital business card solution makes it easier to ask for someone else's contact information without even trying. This will be offered as a default feature in all our ContactLink^TM and ContactLink^TM Plus registered accounts. The default feature asks for two contact information, the name and mobile phone number. If you or your company needs to ask for other contact info from your receivers, we can provide the necessary customizations.

Why did we develop this feature?  After observing how people share their physical or their digital business cards, I've noticed that there are a lot of instances where contact information is not exchanged by both parties. The receiving party often does not reciprocate because either they did not bring their own physical or digital business card, or they were not asked to share their own contact info, or they simply did not want to. I've observed this in large exhibits, trade shows, in small to large company meetings and social gatherings. Take for instance in trade shows, a fishbowl is often placed at the visitor's receiving area to invite visitors to drop off their business cards. The act of giving away your business card is not just about letting people know what services you offer or what you do for a living, but you are also hoping that you can generate business contacts when people also send their contact information to you, regardless if they are part of your target market or not.  In social gatherings, this is also the case where the receiving party will often not reciprocate if they receive someone's contact info simply because the other party did not bother to ask for an exchange. 

To entice the receiver of our ContactLink^TM to send their contact information upon opening the ContactLink^TM, the invitation is done in a manner that it is not very intrusive or annoying. If the receiver happens to be his/her first time to receive a contact link from a Kontakme user, the first method used is a pop-out window that automatically appears a few seconds after the contact page opens. This happens only once. If the receiver has received a contact link before, the second method uses a more subtle invitation, a pulsating button that opens the pop-out window.
