A New Online Service For Pet Owners

Every year, 10 million pets either get lost or are stolen in the US alone. Thanks to strangers who have soft spots for pets and their owners, a lot of these lost pets get reunited. Kontakme LLC recently released a new service specifically designed for pet owners. The service is called Pets Are Us™, a smart , maintenance free pet tagging service that makes it easy to reunite a lost pet with their owner.

The service uses Kontakme's contact links, but instead of opening a digital business card, it opens a lost and found pet information page. It is very similar to the Utaggit service and it retains the messaging and geo location tracking features. What makes it different from the Utaggit service is that it makes it easy to create a lost pet digital flyer and it utilizes a crowd search function where the owner can easily post a lost pet flyer in Facebook complete with matching picture and message. The way it works is that, the owner signs up and gets a contact link. The contact link needs to be engraved in the pet's tag or collar instead of the owner's phone number or address which can change overtime. It can also be used in microchips as the contact info. If the pet gets lost and gets found, the finder can immediately access the contact info by opening the contact link using any regular Internet browser. No need to download any special app or no need to bring the pet to the petshop or vet for microchip identification. The service is free. If the owner wants to use a different contact link but would like to use the same account, the owner can buy another contact link which is renewable every year and cost around $3 annually. It's a simple upgrade to the pet tags and collars that you can use to increase the chances of your pets being returned if they get lost or gets stolen.
