Old business card
Business cards have been around for centuries. In the beginning, it was only a piece of paper with a name on it and the profession of the businessman who owned it. Then businessmen started putting up offices, and the business address became part of the business card. Then came the telephone and telefax which added two to three phone numbers. Then came the mobilephone and another phone number was added. Then came the Internet and the email and website addresses became regular elements of the business card. The business card was never the same since then. But, the real estate of the business card is also becoming too crowded as the internet continues to provide us with more communication and messaging options (e.g. Skype and Facetime). The popularity of social networks also gave rise to website alternatives such as Facebook pages, Twitter feeds, YouTube channels, Instagram pages, Pinterest pages, Linked-In, Yelp and Blog pages. All of them are valuable marketing tools and the best part is that you can get them for almost free. But why are we not seeing them in our business cards? By excluding them in the business card, are we not depriving ourselves of the opportunities coming from the online community? But, would you really dare put all those URLs in the limited space of your business card? Doing so will just ruin your business card's design and presentation. DON'T DO IT. There's a better way.
Kontakme LLC has come up with a simple, online, self-service that allows you to consolidate all your regular business information and multiple online presence into one short link that can be opened using a regular internet browser. Internet connection is required to access the rest of the information. The contact link can be printed at the back of the business card or at the corner edge of the card. The catch? You just need to inform the recipient of your card to open your contact link in any regular internet browser to access more contact information. That's just for now. Pretty soon, as contact links become more common, you don't have to do this.
