New Features for Kontakme Tagging Services

We just released new product features for our range of tagging services for property (utagg.it) , pets (petsare.us) , and the upcoming DICE (Dynamic In- Case - of - Emergency) Tags. If you bought our products (bag tags, QR code stickers, and iron-ons before, you automatically get these features in your account. So, what did we add? In a nutshell, we intend to deliver more conveniences and better user experiences. Imagine being able to check your account status at a glance and being able to change ALERT settings with a few clicks instead of typing long strings of characters to change your data especially in moments when you need help in getting back your lost item or pet. 

PRIVACY settings changed to ALERT Settings

The ALERT Setting will now handle the functions of the PRIVACY setting. It controls the hiding and displaying of the messaging buttons and part of the owner's name and we have added the following functions:

  • The ALERT setting also controls the hiding and displaying of the messaging buttons and it now completely hides the names, pictures and return addresses when it is turned OFF.
  • "Do not display" option - allows the owner to hide the phone number or return address even if the ALERT is turned ON.
  • The owner can choose which of the phone number or address to be the single point of contact when the ALERT is turned ON.

Proof Photo

  • This feature instructs the finder to take a photo of the lost and found pet or item as proof that they are indeed in possession of the lost and found pet or item. This is part of the notification form that opens up when the NOTIFY button is pressed.

Increased the number of phone numbers and addresses to 2

  • The number of phone numbers you can store is increased to 2. You can display only 1 number at any time.
  • The number of return addresses you can store is increased to 2. You can display only 1 return address at any time.
  • These additions will make it easier to switch numbers and return addresses with just a click of a button.

Addition of a Screen Refresh Timer

  • Allows the owner and the finder to see how much time before the screen automatically updates. The owner or finder can still refresh the screen anytime.

Updated Messaging log

  • The MESSAGES tab replaces the TRACKING tab in the Control Panel. It will show all the notification logs sent via the NOTIFY function. The DELETE function deletes all the logs in the control panel only, Copies of individual notifications are emailed to the email app of the owner and they remain there until they are deleted by the owner. The new message viewer page will improve the way users can view all their notifications without needing to comb through email messages.
  • Preventing Kontakme email notifications from appearing in SPAM and JUNK folders
    We upgraded our mailing service to make sure our clients' email notifications are delivered to the INBOX and not to the SPAM or JUNK folder. This is an annoying problem plaguing the online service industry and we will continue to find ways and means to improve delivery of notifications via email.


Why are we pushing for these features?

We understand that convenience and usability is very important to our users. We will continue to improve our services through incremental changes, no matter how small or complex as long as it improves on the convenience factor without compromising privacy and safety.  

Why even bother to even tag your stuff? There are already bluetooth trackers and other battery operated trackers.

Tagging or labeling something you own is an age old practice that dates back since humans learned to recognize symbols. Its use was accelerated when we mastered reading and writing. It became the norm as soon as pens and markers became easy and cheap to buy. In this generation, the practice of labeling has been passed on down to almost anything we own like luggages, jackets, umbrellas, tumblers, food and even the most mundane of things such as our children's pencils, shoes and shirts. If you value something, you should tag it. It's a simple thing to do that costs almost nothing. We all know the feeling of losing something, but imagine this... what if it was easy to return lost and found items because the owners found time to write their names and contact numbers on items they own?  

Battery operated trackers are great especially if you need to actively track something all the time. However, our service is not just about tracking (though it's a feature we have in the service and it's called passive tracking).  Our service focuses more on making it easier for people to return lost and found items. It also makes it easier for owners to slap on their contact info on almost anything that they own ( as long as it has a flat surface) without the fear of openly advertising their contact info to the public.
